Macaroni Kid Craft: Low Poly Easter Bunny

A 3D Paper Art Craft

When it comes to paper crafting I have tried just about everything, but I recently stumbled upon something new: low poly papercraft. And when I find something new, I have to try it!

What does low poly mean? Simply put, low poly is a term used to describe a 3D object made of small polygons. The greater number of polygons used to create an object, the smoother it appears. So, a low poly object will appear quite geometric in nature.

I scoured the internet in search of the perfect pattern, and with Easter in mind, I found an adorable bunny pattern on Etsy.

I ordered the downloadable pattern and had it printed on 65lb cardstock paper at my local Office Depot. The instructions were rather straightforward: cut out the shapes, fold (as a mountain or valley), and glue matching numbers together. When the shapes were all adhered together, the low poly bunny was born!

Some notes about the project: The bunny/rabbit pattern is from LP Objects Paper Crafts on Etsy. I paid less than $10 for the pattern and printing combined. It took almost 5 hours to complete the project. Patience is key!

I can't wait to impress our Easter brunch guests with these festive works of art.
