Picture Perfect Storytime with HarperCollins

Opening Your Child's World One HarperCollins Book at a Time

By Sarah Hauge, Publisher, Macaroni Kid, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Centennial November 14, 2017

Once upon a time, a Macaroni Mom and her little boy picked up a picture book and were whisked away into a world of imagination. They discovered penguins with lollipops and bunnies who greeted the day. For a moment everything was possible.

Let me take you back to where it all began: Macaroni Mom and her little boy invited some dear friends over to share their love of reading. Taking tips for a successful storytime from the HarperCollins Children's Books website, Macaroni Mom began by reading Good Day, Good Night by Margaret Wise Brown and then Little Penguin and the Lollipop by Tadgh Bentley, two books from Picture Perfect Storytime, a 10-book collection by HarperCollins Children's Books.

Immediately following the stories, the crew of kiddos continued the love of learning through literature with exciting hands-on activities. Macaroni Mom had printed themed worksheets directly from the HarperCollins website which took the stress out of party-planning and ended up leading to wonderful discussions ranging from logical and relatable to fantastic and dream-worthy. Guests created images of daytime vs night and reviewed opposites in general. They also guided their penguins through an elaborate maze on the path leading to a delicious lollipop.

With beautifully illustrated stories and complementary storytime guides and printable activities, HarperCollins makes it easy for families to engage their children and grow their creativity. What will your family discover when you open your next picture book?
