DIY Indoor Rock Climbing Wall

By Julie Mendez, Guest Contributor, Macaroni Kid, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Centennial July 7, 2018

Being trapped inside for North Carolina's extremely humid summers inspired my husband to create an indoor playspace suitable for my active climbers.

Supplies Needed:

  • Five (5) boards sized at 3/4" by 6"  ~ This number will vary based on the height of the wall.
  • Screws ~ This number will vary based on the quantity and length of your boards
  • Stud finder (optional)
  • Indoor lacquer paint
  • Climbing holds with hardware ~ You can buy these on Amazon!

Instructions:

  • Measure and cut your boards to fit the space you choose.
  • Paint the boards. You kids can help with this step.
  • Secure the boards to the wall using a stud finder.
  • Attach the climbing holds. We spaced our holds approximately 18 inches apart.

This simple and inexpensive project was completed in just 2 afternoons. The best part is that my kids have yet to tire of it!
