2023 Thanksgiving Day Running Events

Kick off the Thanksgiving holiday in a healthy way by participating in a walk, jog, or run. If you're staying in the area this Thanksgiving, here's a list of Turkey Trot events happening across Colorado's Front Range.

Turkey Trots are listed below by date and alphabetically by city name.

MacKID Tip: Register as early as possible to take advantage of Early Bird Pricing. Rates typically increase as the event date approaches.

  SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 2023

Longmont Turkey Trot | Longmont
Gobble, Gobble, Gobble, GO! Register to run one of the most scenic, fastest, 10k or 2-mile courses around. The 10K course also has a Wheelchair Division. Races begin on the Utility Road behind Altona Middle School. Proceeds benefit the City of Longmont Recreation Services Youth Scholarship Fund.

  SATURDAY, NOVEMBER 18, 2023

10K Turkey Trek, 5K Turkey Trot, & 2K Turkey Toddle | Arvada
Three different race lengths are available for your convenience. Races will begin at Long Lake Regional Park. Poised at the top of the hill of the 10K Trek is the infamous Egg Nog Chug Challenge where racers (have the option) to chug 5 oz of eggnog, followed by a hay bale hop challenge and a Fill Your Pie Hole pumpkin pie snack. Proceeds go to Community Table, a local food bank that feeds and helps the community of Arvada and surrounding areas.


38th Annual Turkey Trot ~ 5K | Brighton
This family fun tradition will take place at Brighton Recreation Center. Fees include a t-shirt, breakfast, awards, prizes, drawings, and a lot of fun! This is a Bolder Boulder qualifying race.


Turkey Trot Predict | Colorado Springs
When you register, you predict your finish time for the 5K course. The clock is set to the highest predicted finish time of all the runners and set to count down. As the clock reaches the prediction time of each runner, that runner starts running.


Pumpkin Pie 5K/10K | Denver
Racers will receive a logo shirt, finisher medal, professional chip timing, and assorted goodies at the finish line. Races take place at City Park.


Turkey-Donut Predict Run | Fort Collins
This isn't your ol' run-of-the-mill 5k. Runners have to estimate their finishing time prior to the start; we don't allow timekeeping devices of any kind. The top 5 people that come closest to their estimate win. So just because you're fast doesn't mean you'll win this one. The race is FREE and a fundraiser for the Food Bank for Larimer County.


Feed Your Soul Turkey Trot | Wheat Ridge
Feed Your Soul Fund is presenting this amazing event to help feed children in the local community who struggle with food insecurity. The race starts at Prospect Park and heads west on the Clear Creek Greenbelt before crossing over the creek and finishing back at Prospect Park.

  THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 23, 2023

Broomfield Turkey Day 5K & 10KBroomfield
This Thanksgiving Day tradition will take place at Broomfield County Commons. Participants will receive a knit POM beanie and a finisher's medal, plus free race day photos. Broomfield FISH is the official charity partner for the Broomfield Turkey Day 5k & 10k. On race day, bring five non-perishable food items and be entered into a raffle!


Turkey ROCK Trot ~ 5K & FREE 1K Kid's Dash | Castle Rock
The 19th annual Turkey ROCK Trot will take place at the Douglas County Event Center on Thanksgiving morning. Participants can enjoy live music, a costume contest, flippin' flapjacks, an indoor health & wellness expo, kid activities, and much more. All proceeds benefit the Help & Hope Center.


Turkey Trot 5K & Kids' Tiny Trot: Huffin' for the Stuffin' | Colorado Springs
The Turkey Trot 5K and Kids’ Tiny Trot are the eagerly anticipated holiday events of the season and are a fundraiser for the Briargate YMCA. This fundraiser helps to provide scholarships to local families in need, which, in turn, allows them access to the YMCA and its many programs.


50th Annual Mile High United Way Turkey Trot ~ 4 Miles & Little Gobbler Family Zone Denver
This fun Thanksgiving tradition welcomes families to Washington Park for a four-mile run/walk supporting Mile High United Way. The Little Gobbler Family Fun Run is a course under 1-mile long. Runners will enjoy a collectible t-shirt, bib with timing tag, and festivities for the whole family.


Southmoor Park Fun Run | Denver
Run two laps around Southmoor Park at this 2nd annual fun run. This year's charity will be WeeCycle. Wee Cycle's mission is to recycle essential baby gear and match it to Colorado families in need. Please bring a baby item to donate -- formula, body wash, wipes, diapers, nail clippers, or humidifiers.


Hampden Heights Community Association Turkey Trot 5K | Denver
Bring your running shoes, positive attitudes, and community spirit to this family-friendly fun run on Thanksgiving morning. The run starts at the Hampden Heights Swim and Tennis Club Parking Lot.


The Pilgrimage Run Erie
Run with a purpose at Erie Community Park. Choose between a 2-mile, 4-mile, or kid-length run. The routes are made up of 90% paved trails and 10% streets. Proceeds from this Thanksgiving Day tradition are given to a nominated family or person in the community who is facing hardship. Know someone facing hardship? EChO Annual Turkey Trot ~ 3 Miles | Evergreen
2022 marks EChO's 12th Annual Turkey Trot. Enjoy Thanksgiving morning with a family-friendly three-mile trot around Evergreen Lake. Costumes welcome! The Turkey Trot begins and ends at the Church of the Transfiguration.


Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Race | Greeley
The Weld Legacy Foundation along with the CardioVascular Institute of North Colorado will host the 26th Annual Turkey Trot Thanksgiving Race which includes a 5K (3.1 miles) Turkey Trot and a 2K (1.2 miles) Gobbler Trek Fun Run/ Walk on a scenic, USATF-certified course.


2023 TD5K ~ 5K | Highlands Ranch
Starting and ending near Halftime Help Stadium at Redstone Park in Highlands Ranch, experienced runners and families can enjoy this rain-or-shine tradition on Thanksgiving Day. Stick around after the run for a hot pancake breakfast benefiting the Douglas County Fallen Officer Fund, and a cold beer in the onsite Prost Biergarten.


Gobble Wobble Run 5K | Littleton
Since 2010 the Gobble Wobble Run has been a family-favorite Thanksgiving Day event taking place at Clement Park.


Louisville Turkey Trot 5K | Louisville
The Advent Health Avista Louisville Turkey Trot was created as a means to collect food and donations for our local food bank. Your entry and any other food donation goes to support Community Food Share, whose mission is to eliminate hunger in Boulder and Broomfield Counties through engagement, collaboration, and leadership.


Turkey Day 5K Fun Run/Walk Parker
This Thanksgiving tradition will start at the Parker Recreation Center and journey along the Cherry Creek Regional Trail. Registered participants will receive a commemorative race scarf, a souvenir race bib, and hot cocoa, cider, or coffee. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Town of Parker Scholarship Program, which helps Parker families and/or individuals with limited financial resources participate in Town Recreation programs and facilities.

Too Much Turkey 5K | Arvada
Enjoy a 5k-ish, fun run event that starts and ends at the Colorado Tap House in Arvada. Run, walk, jog — just complete the course, then celebrate with a FREE local craft brew at the finish line AND a slice of pie to go with it!

Gobble Run Turkey Trot 5K/10K/13.1 | Aurora
Run or walk at this Thanksgiving weekend event. You will take on a scenic 5k, 10k, or half marathon from Sand Creek Park in a small group of no more than 15 runners per wave.
