DIY Single-Serve Ice Cream Cake

By Sarah Hauge, Publisher, Macaroni Kid, Englewood, Greenwood Village, Centennial August 14, 2019

My family recently attended a birthday party where the hostess served an ice cream cake. I couldn't remember the last time I had a slice of the tasty treat, and the thought of it had me daydreaming about how I could enjoy the delicacy more often. Thus, the idea of the single-serve ice cream cake was born.

Ingredients:

  • Ice Cream Sandwiches (We used ice cream wheels for a traditional cake look)
  • Frosting
  • Cake toppings

Instructions:

  1. Frost your ice cream sandwich.
  2. Decorate with various cake toppings.
  3. Freeze your cake for ~30 minutes before serving.

MacKid Tip: Try stacking ice cream sandwiches on top of each other, applying frosting between the layers, to create a shareable dessert. Bon appetit!
