Arapahoe County Library's Exploration Pass ~ Explore Colorado for FREE

Want to play tourist in the Mile High City? Arapahoe Library card-holders can reserve an Exploration Pass to several metro-Denver attractions for FREE! 

How to Get your FREE Passes to Denver Area Attractions

  • Book passes online up to 30 days ahead of time. 
  • Maximum of two (2) passes booked at one time.

Exploration Pass Attractions


Butterfly Pavilion 

  • 1 free visitor per pass
  • After reserving your library pass, please call the Butterfly Pavilion at (720) 531-9375 to reserve a time slot.
  • Beginning Friday, January 1, 2021, each pass will include free admission for (1) person, with up to (3) additional people per party at $5 each. You are able to pay the fee over the phone or at the door.
  • Timed entry every 20 minutes for small group guided tours
  • Masks and social distancing required

Clyfford Still Museum

  • 2 free adult visitors per pass; children 17 and under may accompany the pass holder for free
  • After reserving your library pass, please call the Clyfford Still Museum at 720-354-4880 to reserve a time slot.
  • Timed reservations are required for entry
  • Masks are required
  • Closed Mondays

Colorado Railroad Museum

  • 6 free visitors per pass
  • No reservation required
  • Masks are required
  • Now closed on Mondays

Denver Firefighters Museum

  • 4 free visitors per pass.
  • No reservation required. Walk-ins welcome. Complimentary entry with a library card.
  • Masks and social distancing are required. No hands-on activities currently offered. 
  • Closed Mondays
  • Open Tuesday–Sunday 10am–4pm

Denver Museum of Nature & Science

  • 7 free visitors per pass. You'll also receive discounts on special ticketed exhibitions and 10% off in the Museum Shop & Cafe.
  • After reserving your library pass, please call 303.370.6306 to secure a timed ticket for Museum entry.
  • The City & County of Denver has a face-covering order in place for all indoor public spaces. All guests ages 3 and older are required to wear a face-covering over their nose and mouth at all times while visiting the Museum.
  • Limited capacity; Museum is operating at 25% capacity
  • The IMAX Theater, Planetarium, and Restaurant are temporarily closed
  • Temporary exhibitions require a paid, timed ticket in addition to a timed ticket for Museum entry. Library patrons can check out the Museum membership and call 303.370.6306 to secure a timed ticket for Museum entry AND purchase a timed ticket for one of the temporary exhibitions ($8 adult/$6 child).  

Dinosaur Ridge

  • 4 free visitors per pass; valid for the Trek Through Time Exhibit Hall and a 40-minute guided tour of Dinosaur Ridge. Tours are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis.
  • After reserving your library pass, please call Dinosaur Ridge at 303-697-3466 to reserve a time slot.
  • Masks and social distancing required
  • Guided bus tours available Friday-Monday
  • Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the start of a tour time
  • Trek Through Time (museum) open 7 days a week!
  • The Discovery Center is currently closed

Forney Museum of Transportation

  • 4 free visitors per pass
  • After reserving your library pass, please call the Forney Museum at 303-297-1113 to reserve a time slot.
  • Face coverings required for visitors over the age of 2.
  • Social distancing required.
  • No bags or purses are allowed on the exhibit floor. 
  • The locker room is currently closed.

Four Mile Historic Park

  • 2 adult visitors per pass; children 6 and younger may accompany the pass holder free of charge. Pass may be redeemed on the day of your visit for 50% off a Family Membership to the Park
  •  Register for your pass using Arapahoe Libraries' ticket reservation system.
  • Send an email to info@fourmilepark.org and please attach your library reservation confirmation and request a code to waive the entry fee for the timed ticket.
  • When you receive the email response containing a coupon code, go to www.fourmilepark.org to reserve your timed ticket. During the checkout process enter your coupon code to waive the entry fee.
  • Open Friday - Sunday 10:00 am - 4:00 pm
  • Guided Museum Tours are postponed during Covid-19

Molly Brown House Museum

  • 4 visitors per pass
  • After reserving your library pass, please call Molly Brown House Museum at 303-832-4092 ext. 13 to reserve a time slot.
  • Masks required
  • No guided tours offered. Visit the Molly Brown website to download a guide.
  • Open Wednesday–Saturday 10 am–4 pm

Museo de las Americas

  • 4 visitors per pass
  • After reserving your library pass, please call Museo de las Americas at (303) 571- 4401 to reserve a timeslot
  • You are also welcome to visit museo.org/exhibition/current-exhibition to reserve your timed tickets. Select what day and time you'd like, then use the code: ArapahoeLibrary at checkout for your free admission. Questions? Call 303.571.4401.
  • Please mention that you are an Arapahoe Libraries patron when you call to reserve a timeslot
  • Masks and social distancing required
  • Museum hours are Tuesday-Friday 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm

The Rocky Mountain Quilt Museum

  • 4 visitors per pass
  • No reservation required. Please present your pass at the door.
  • Masks and social distancing required
  • Limit of 10 people in gallery at one time
  • New hours: Monday–Saturday 10 am–4 pm

Wings Over the Rockies Air & Space Museum

  • 4 visitors per pass
  • Tickets must be reserved through the Wings Over the Rockies website. Fill out the ticket request form and wait to receive a confirmation email. You may also call the museum admissions desk at 303-360-5360 ext. 105.
  • Hours:
    • Air & Space Museum (Lowry): Mon–Sat 10am–4pm; Sunday 12–4pm
    • Exploration of Flight (Centennial): Sat 10am–4pm; Sunday 12–4pm.
  • Ticket Time Slots: 10 am, 12 pm and 2pm
