It's not too often that my friends and I get together for a Ladies Night In, but when we do, it's all about the food and fun! This weekend we got creative with a garden-themed event by creating floral arrangements and nibbling on veggie appetizers.

Let's talk food:

Birds Eye Veggie Made™ Cauliflower Fries and Birds Eye Veggie Made™ Broccoli Fries set the stage for the night as finger foods in both savory and sweet form. Yes, you read that correctly... savory AND sweet! While browsing through the Birds Eye recipe page, I was stopped cold to find "Churro Fries" listed with their cauliflower fries as the central ingredient. Curiosity got the best of me and we gave them a try. Served with a caramel dipping sauce, these deliciously crispy vegetable wonders were the hit of the party!

Macaroni KID Tips:

Birds Eye items are available in the frozen aisle at retailers nationwide (including King Soopers and Walmart). Other Birds Eye Veggie Made™ varieties include Broccoli & Cheese Flavored Fries as well as Cauliflower & Ranch Fries. Let's talk fun:

A fresh bouquet of flowers is something that always puts a smile on my face. In fact, many, many years ago I took a floral design class just to understand the artistry behind a cleverly crafted arrangement. To share my love for flowers and design, I invited some friends over with one request: bring a vase! Upon arrival, guests were able to create their own floral masterpieces using flowers and greenery that I purchased from our local grocery store and picked from my own backyard.

Macaroni KID Tip:

If you're thinking of hosting your own DIY floral arrangement event, consider making it potluck-style. For those of you who like cohesiveness, be sure to come up with a color scheme in advance.

Food and fun were definitely present at our garden-themed Ladies Night In. As corny as it may sound, one thing's for sure: finger foods and green thumbs go hand in hand. 😉
