Let Kids Pack their own Lunches for a Simpler School Year

Until I had kids of my own, I had no idea just how many decisions I would have to make about school lunches. Add a pandemic on top of that and the number increases exponentially. In a time where stress is knocking on every door, I'm taking one more thing off my plate with easy, kid-favorite meals from Kraft Heinz for back-to-school lunches.

My children are entering 1st and 3rd grade, a pivotal time in their lives when they've earned the responsibility to pack their own lunch boxes. To prepare for this transition, we stopped by our local Walmart store to scout out mealtime options. Walking the perimeter of the grocery department, I could see their eyes light up when we reached the Lunchables display in the refrigerated food section.

Paired with a drink (such as our family-favorite: Fruit Punch Capri Sun) and a fresh fruit or veggie, these grab-and-go containers come in a variety of options, are easy to pack and open independently, and are just plain fun! In fact, I get nostalgic thinking back to my own childhood when I'd have the privilege of getting to sort through the flavors to find the perfect meat, cheese, and cracker combination.

I felt like a kid again when I discovered some new Lunchables products such as the Dirt Cake, a twist on the classic "worms in dirt" dessert, and the Snack Duos which are perfect to split between my kids for a ready-to-go after school snack.

There's still a lot of uncertainty with heading back to school, but I am hopeful that one thing will be guaranteed: a midday smile when my kids open their lunchboxes and remember that they've picked out a meal they're sure to enjoy.

Join me and my family by taking the stress out of back-to-school lunch planning and letting your kids lead the way this year. Stock up on lunchtime favorites from Kraft Heinz at your local Walmart store.
