Do you wrap stocking stuffers or do you leave them as they are? My husband and I grew up in households that offered different perspectives on this holiday tradition, but there's one thing we both agree on... stockings must have nostalgic sweets!

I recently stopped by our local Greenwood Village Target store to stock up on my favorite candy and gum products in order to create joy-filled stockings and gifts.

While there's no right or wrong way to fill a stocking, here are 3 ideas to switch up your gifting routine.

1) Repackage your favorite treats in fun containers.
After our first Christmas with new stockings, I quickly realized that the stockings didn't stretch much at the opening so I had to be selective about what items to put inside. One #momhack I've utilized year to year is to repackage some of the bulkier items to make sure the products fit nicely. This also works well for dividing up family-size treats such as candies!

At the front of the store in Bullseye's Playground, we found a set of clear plastic ornaments. Divvy up some SOUR PATCH KIDS Soft & Chewy Candy (my absolutely favorite sour/sweet treat from childhood!) or SWEDISH FISH Soft & Chewy Candy- a sweet, but not too sweet choice- for colorful, festive treats.

2) Go all out on a special theme.
When I get stuck in a rut for stocking stuffer ideas, I like to get my creativity flowing by brainstorming different themes based on the gift recipient's interests. Here are some examples:

  • Make it a Movie Night: Include SOUR PATCH KIDS Candy with a salty snack and movie voucher.

  • Appreciate the Animal Kingdom: Include a snuggly stuffed animal, SWEDISH FISH Candy, and animal-themed picture book.

  • Put your Feet Up: Include a pair of fuzzy socks, bath salts, and some Peppermint Wave TRIDENT VIBES Gum.

  • Explore the World: Include Swiss chocolate TOBLERONE Chocolate Bars, luggage tags, and a travel-sized game.

3) Wrap those stocking stuffers.
Okay. Hear me out. I didn't think this was the best idea at first, but wrapping stocking stuffer gifts will actually slow down the holiday celebrations. My kids get a little too excited on Christmas morning and tend to speed through everything- and each year it goes faster and faster! If wrapping the stocking stuffers slows time for just a fraction of a moment, I'll take what I can get.
