From top to bottom, inside and out, Gaylord Rockies Resort has decked the halls for an INCREDIBLE festive season of fun. With so much to see and do, it's worth staying overnight, but if you're limited on time, a day trip is a great option... and that's exactly what my family did! We focused our attention on all of the Gaylord's outdoor holiday entertainment this year.

Disclosure: I received complimentary tickets for attractions at Gaylord Rockies to facilitate this review. All thoughts are my own.

Fun at Glacier Point

Having been Christmas at the Gaylord in years past, we already had an idea of how we wanted to structure our day. We'd start with ice bumper cars and snow tubing, spend a bulk of our time ice skating, and follow up with some new-to-us Gaylord Rockies activities: the snow play zone and Snowdrift Mini Golf. Upon arriving at Glacier Point we were amazed at how much it has grown. It seems to get bigger and better every year.

My kids had never been ice skating. (How did that sneak by me?!) The way the rink is set up made it enjoyable for my first-timers. Shaped like a giant "O," the rink offers both an exterior wall and interior wall which meant that my newbies could hold on tight while making a short lap or a longer one as they felt more comfortable with the sport. Additionally, we tried out a complimentary dolphin-shaped ice skate trainer and we're so glad we did! They were fantastic for maintaining balance and both my kids had the chance to go for a ride while I strutted my stuff around the rink.

Guests receive wrist bands for both the ice skating and snow tubing attractions which means that if you need a break and want to come back another time, you have the flexibility to do so. This was another perk for us as my kids tired from ice skating at different times from one another.

Christmas at the Gaylord continues to impress us and we are thrilled to give the resort a resounding two thumbs up for family fun!

The resort’s Christmas at the Gaylord seasonal event is open through January 9, 2022.
