Volunteer with your Family from Home: Make Cards for Hospitalized Kids

January 26, 2023

Cards for Hospitalized Kids (CFHK) is a national non-profit that provides hospital-bound children with cheerful, handmade cards. These cards, made by YOU, are distributed to Children's Hospitals and Ronald McDonald Houses across all 50 states.

Join CFHK and get your whole family involved in making cards.

Participants can choose to make holiday-themed cards* (such as Valentine's Day, Easter, 4th of July, and Christmas) or everyday cards with uplifting messages to encourage injured and/or ill children during their hospital stay.

*Holiday cards are preferred two weeks prior to the holiday.

Completed cards should be mailed to:
Cards for Hospitalized Kids,
7290 W Devon Ave,
Chicago, IL 60631

What should you write on your cards?

CFHK offers suggested text as well as things to avoid when designing your cards, so be sure to check out their cardmaking FAQ before getting started. Here are some examples of acceptable text:

  • Stay strong
  • You are awesome
  • Never forget how amazing you are
  • You rock
  • I hope you have a great day today
  • You shine brighter than the sun
  • You inspire me
  • Be brave
  • I believe in you
