RTD Extends FREE Rides for Youth in 12-Month Program, Starting Sept 1

August 29, 2023

Throughout July and August, Colorado's RTD offered Zero Fare for Better Air, an initiative offering use of its public transit system for FREE for all riders. With the success of this program, the RTD Board of Directors approved a new fare structure, policies, and programs for riders.

Zero Fare for Youth is a 12-month pilot program offering riders (ages 19 and under) FREE use of RTD services. The program begins September 1st to coincide with back-to-school transportation.

The new fee structure for all other riders will be implemented in the first quarte of 2024:

  • Standard Fee: $2.75 for a 3-hour pass; $5.50 for a day pass (excludes travel to DIA)
    • Airport fare, for SkyRide and A Line trips that begin or end at the airport, is $10
  • Monthly Pass: $88 (includes travel to DIA)
  • Discounts are available to seniors, riders with disabilities, Medicare recipients, and individuals enrolled in LiVE (income-based fare discount program).
