Run in Your Costumes at These Local Halloween-Themed Fun Runs

Colorado has its fair share of family-friendly fun runs and these Halloween-themed races are no exception. Whether you're a seasoned runner or just looking for a fun way to stay active, these exciting events are the perfect opportunities to dress up in your favorite Halloween costume and strut your spooky self. Walk or run your way through the haunted trails and stick around for plenty of Halloween-themed festivities.

Halloween-themed fun runs in the Denver metro area are listed below in order of date.


Ghosts & Goblins 5K
Date: Sunday, October 22 @ 9 AM
Location: City Park at 700 N York St, Denver

Start your holiday traditions with a fun morning of fitness and friends by joining us at Denver’s City Park. Runners and walkers will complete a timed 5K course through the park, then enjoy a finisher’s medal, a fun vendor village, food and drinks, a themed shirt, and awards for the top runners.


Hoofin' It Through the Hollows 5K
Date: Friday, October 27 @ 5:45 PM
Location: DeKoevend Park at 6315 S University Blvd, Centennial

Runners of all ages and abilities, families, and dogs are all welcome to participate in this festive celebration. Dress in your Halloween best for a chance to win prizes for the costume contest before the race at 5:15pm.


Monster Dash 5K, 10K, & Kids Race
Date: Saturday, October 28 @ 9:30 AM
Location: Sloan Lake Park at 6802 E Yale Ave, Denver
* This event also takes place at Community Park in downtown Louisville on Sunday, October 29th.

The Halloween Expo will open at 8:00 am with scary music and early AM snacks and coffee. For extra fun, look for stuffed aliens along the course and bring one back to headquarters to win prizes, gifts, and race gear.
