By Beth Marketos, Macaroni KID Englewood-Greenwood Village-Centennial Publisher, Macaroni KID Highlands Ranch-Parker-Castle Rock-Lone Tree Co-Manager, Macaroni KID Denver Assistant Publisher October 30, 2024

Election day is Tuesday, November 5th!  Voting is an important right where our voices as American citizens can be heard.  No matter your political affiliation it's important to exercise this right!

I have three first time voters in my family and when they saw the ballot they were overwhelmed. I was too! There is A LOT on the ballot this election!  We sat down as a family and went over EVERYTHING!  The sites below helped us better understand what was on the ballot and allowed us to have some great informed conversations with the kids.

I hope they are helpful for you!

Colorado Public Radio 2024 Election Guide

This guide has information on all state wide amendments, propositions, and congressional candidates. The sometimes confusing ballot language is written in easily understandable text and provides information on pros and cons of each, as well as groups that are for and against.  This guide also has a lot of general election information.  It's a great resource for all things elections!

2024 Judicial Performance Evaluations

This site gives information for each judge on the ballot. On the main page you will find information on weather the judge meets performance standards and if you dig a little deeper you will find how attorneys and other judges rate each judge.

If you have a Special Issue Ballot Measure on your ballot it can be very difficult to find any information!  We have an issue on our ballots specific to the metro district we live in and didn't find anything when we googled the measure.

Here's where we looked for and found information:

  • Neighborhood Facebook groups. TIP: search using the issue number
  • Our Metropolitan District website.
  • Our local area newspaper. TIP: look for letters to the editor

We didn't find much but enough to help us make an informed decision!

The Macaroni KID Englewood-Greenwood Village-Centennial territory falls with in Arapahoe County and Denver County. Polling places and ballot drop boxes for each county can be found by clicking on the county names above.

Don't forget to sign up for ballottrax to receive texts or emails with updates on where your ballot is once you turn it!

Ballots MUST be received by 7 pm on Election Day.
Postmarks DO NOT count as received.
