Summer Jewelry Camps are an exciting opportunity for children to explore the world of metalsmithing. These camps are held at ARTWORKS, a dynamic artist cooperative where 15 talented artists from various mediums display and sell their goods. The camp curriculum is all about sparking creativity while teaching the essentials of metalsmithing in a hands-on, exciting way. Projects are designed to appeal to both the bold explorers and the more cautious creators. For those who love to dive into the unknown, I offer projects that inspire personal expression and experimentation. And for those who prefer a little guidance, I provide structured templates that lead to a sense of achievement and pride. The best part? Watching kids’ faces light up as they bring their own unique creations to life—it’s truly a rewarding experience!

Our Ultimate Friendship Bracelet camp is the perfect opportunity for your tween or teen to explore the world of jewelry-making, express themselves artistically, and learn valuable skills along the way.
Over the course of three exciting days, your child will dive into the art of beading and bracelet-making, using high-quality materials and tools to craft their own unique designs. Whether they’re beginners or have tried friendship bracelets before, they’ll learn to make gorgeous, one-of-a-kind pieces they’ll be proud to wear or gift.
Here’s what they’ll do:
- Create a gemstone bead stretchy bracelet
- Design and make a beaded chain bracelet using basic wire-forming tools finished with a clasp
- Cut, shape and stamp a delicate charm to add a personalized touch to your bracelets
- Design and create a "secret message" bracelet using beads to spell out messages in Morse code!
Stamping Basics: Create Beautiful, Personalized Jewelry
This camp is ideal for kids who enjoy working with their hands, are detail oriented and don’t mind working at a slower pace.

Looking for a creative summer camp where your child can unleash their artistic side, master the art of metal stamping, and make gorgeous, one-of-a-kind jewelry? Our Stamping Basics camp is the perfect place for kids who love the process of creating and appreciate intricate designs.
Over the course of this fun and engaging class, your child will learn how to use metal stamps and templates to craft stunning pieces of jewelry, from zodiac pendants to mandala designs.
Here’s what they’ll do:
- Create unique patterns and designs on metal using metal stamps, templates and guides
- Design and stamp a mountain scene on a metal pendant
- Craft a detailed mandala design into a pendant
- Discover how patinas can be used to highlight design elements
- Apply gemstones accents to pieces for added sparkle and color.
Basic Metals: Forging Fun with Metal
This camp is perfect for kids who love learning new skills, using tools, and working with their hands. If your child is ready for a summer of creativity, new experiences, and building something special, this is the perfect class!

Our Beginning Metalsmithing camp is the perfect place for kids who want to explore their creativity and craft one-of-a-kind pieces from metal. This hands-on, fun-filled camp will introduce your child to basic metalsmithing techniques while they create jewelry they’ll be proud to wear!
Over the course of this exciting camp, your child will learn multiple basic metalsmithing and design techniques to create beautiful pieces of jewelry. They’ll leave with a set of stunning creations, from keychains to earrings and charm pendants. Many of the skills learned can be used at home with a few basic tools so the fun can continue all summer long!
Here’s what they’ll do:
- Learn to use hand tools to cut and shape metal blanks into custom pieces
- Learn one method of hand drilling holes in pendants and charms
- Master the art of adding texture and patterns to metal using various techniques
- Experiment with patinas to add color and character to their jewelry
- Explore design techniques layering different components to create eye-catching and unique jewelry pieces
Advanced Metals: “Fire” Up Your Skills!
Prerequisite: Basic Metals or Stamping Basics. This class is ideal for kids who enjoyed Basic Metals and are ready for a new challenge. Instructor approval is required
Dates: July 14- 16 ~ 9:00am-12:00pm | August 4-6 ~ 1:30pm-4:30pm
Price: $185 plus additional $45 materials fee to cover all supplies and sterling silver chain for their permanent (or clasped) bracelet.
Ready to take your child’s metalsmithing skills to the next level? Our Advanced Metals camp is the perfect opportunity for kids who have completed Basic Metals and want to explore more advanced techniques. In this camp, we will heat things up with new skills – using a torch, micro-welding, and riveting.
Through this hands-on experience, your child will learn how to manipulate metal in exciting new ways, turning simple designs into professional-quality jewelry. Whether they’re interested in making a personalized cuff bracelet or designing their own gemstone earrings, they’ll be crafting pieces that showcase their creativity and newfound skills.
Here’s what they’ll do:
- Learn to connect two pieces of metal with rivets resulting in a beautiful mixed metal cuff bracelet
- Master the technique of using heat to make “head pins” to create gemstone earrings
- Learn the basics of soldering to create stacker rings
- Understand welding basics, including creating permanent jewelry pieces
- Apply basic solder and/or wire forming skills to create connector for a delicate bracelet. Participants can choose to create a permanent bracelet with their connector, which the instructor will weld on the final day (parental consent required).
Jewelry Making & Entrepreneurship Camp – Perfect for Creative Teens!
This camp is designed for motivated and creative teens who want to explore their artistic talents, build confidence, and even launch their own small business.
Dates: June 16-18 AND June 23-25 ~ 1:30pm-4:30pm (camp runs for two consecutive weeks, Monday to Wednesday, participants are enrolled in both weeks)

Looking for a fun and inspiring way for your teen to spend their summer? Our Jewelry Making & Entrepreneurship Camp is the perfect opportunity for girls who love to create, design, and dream big! This camp is designed to complement any of the other camps as the focus is on selling rather than on making jewelry.
Over the course of three exciting days, your teen will basic skills to create their own necklaces, bracelets, and earrings, all while learning how to sell handmade jewelry. From designing beautiful pieces to learning how to price and market them, this camp is a great introduction to creativity and entrepreneurship. Students may elect to combine this camp with one of the other jewelry making camps to expand their skills and ability to create sellable jewelry.
After camp, we will provide an essential kit, including earring wires, chains, and stamping blanks, so campers can bring their unique designs to life throughout the summer. Plus, after camp, they’ll have access to our Open Studio sessions, where they can use professional tools and keep perfecting their craft.
By the end of summer, participants will have the amazing opportunity to showcase and sell their creations as Guest Artists at the ARTWORKS Gallery Fall Market—a chance to gain real-world business experience and celebrate their hard work!

About Mindy Craig Studio
Mindy Craig Studio offers ready-to-wear designer jewelry, as well as engaging workshops and creative camps for teens and tweens, all centered around the art of metalsmithing. I create and sell modern minimalistic jewelry pieces using traditional metalsmithing techniques. I love creating using recycled and reclaimed materials that have interesting backstories! My jewelry is sold in a variety of venues, including art galleries, retail shops and at art festivals.
Alongside my work as a metalsmith, I’m passionate about teaching and love offering engaging DIY workshops and creative camps that allow others to explore their own artistic abilities. These hands-on experiences allow people to explore the art of jewelry making, learn new skills, and connect with others. My workshops are inspired by the "Sip and Paint" model, where friends can gather, enjoy a drink, and try their hand at creating their own pieces of jewelry. These workshops are designed to be fun, low-pressure experiences that allow participants to experiment with techniques and express their creativity.
At the heart of my business is a passion for sharing the joy of creation with others. Whether sharing the story behind my creations with customers at an art fair or teaching someone the skills to create their own designs, I strive to provide a space where people can explore their creativity and feel inspired. Through my jewelry, workshops, and camps, I hope to inspire others to explore their own creativity and learn the art of metalsmithing, all while fostering an appreciation of handmade artisan creations.
