Description
Join us for a sunset nature hike to search for nocturnal wildlife along the Canal! We’ll start the evening in the classroom to learn about Canal wildlife and how to spot them. Then we’ll head out onto the trail to look and listen for owls, bats, insects, and more. We’ll use new technology to listen to bats’ ultrasonic echolocation calls and identify the species of bats we hear based on their calls! We’ll also learn about the territorial behavior of great-horned owls and head into their territory to see if we can hear them calling or spot them waking up for the evening. Registration is required.
