Travel through time and enter the magical Realm of dragons and fairies, knights and trolls, royalty and wenches! Join hundreds of performers, artisans, and costumed entertainers for a day filled with song and dance, laughter, amusement, and excitement.
The Colorado Renaissance Festival is perfect for every age! When our kids were little, we spent time in the Children's Realm between the Joust tournaments. As they got a little older, the acrobats and jugglers enthralled them (and still do). Now, they also get excited about the food and the music!
My husband and I have also attended without the kids. A #DateKnight, if you will. 😉
One of the things I love most about the Renaissance Festival is that it's like a giant costume party, but no one cares if you don't dress up in the "appropriate" theme or even if you dress up at all. Wanna come as a zebra? Go ahead! Wanna wear combat boots, a kilt, body paint, and steampunk sunglasses? Come on in! The only rule is to have fun!
There is no other place to experience all that the Renaissance Festival offers: delicious food, cold pints, animals, face painters and hair braiders, a variety of live entertainment, plus a chance to dress up as you visit a time from long ago.
The Colorado Renaissance Festival returns to Larkspur this summer for eight spectacular weekends! Gate tickets are $28 for adults and $12 for children 5-12. Children under 5 are FREE! Skip the line at the Box Office and save money when you purchase online or at King Soopers. Parking is free.
ENTERTAINMENT
The Joust with The Knights of Noble Cause is the highlight of the Festival. Everyone in the audience really gets into cheering for "their" knight and booing at all the others! Witness a Tournament of Skill, a Tournament of Arms, and Trial by Combat scheduled throughout the day!
Celtic Legacy plays rock songs with bagpipes, drums, and a guitar. This band is so fun and energetic that you'll want to watch and listen to them all day!
Kamikaze Fireflies are part comedy, part circus. You may have seen them several years ago on America's Got Talent. They are even better when you see them live at the Festival.
London Broil is a trio of jugglers who are not only skilled but very entertaining, too. They'll have you laughing out loud through the entire show!
The Washing Well Wenches have a hilarious show with LOADS (see what I did there?) of audience interaction and participation. It is a bit suggestive; parental discretion is advised.
Zilch the Torysteller has been "peaching teople how to leak in a spifferent danguage" for over four decades. He takes classic tales and utterly mangles them historically and hysterically. Hear him render stories like "Goldilocks and the Bee Threars," "Rindercella," and Spilliam Wakeshear's classic "Jomeo and Ruliet."
Plus, MANY more, including musicians, firebreathers, dancers, acrobats, singers, and a variety of activities and special events just for kids.

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO
Don't try to fit everything into one visit — you simply can't! Instead, pick up a program and Festival Map with the various showtimes and locations to help you plan your day.
Leave room in your day to visit the artisan booths. There are over 200 shops with everything from roasted nuts and seasonings to clothing and handmade soaps. Some of the artisans have live demonstrations, too. If you've never seen glass blown into a vase, it's pretty extraordinary!
Many of the games and rides, as well as some food and beverage sales, are cash only. Outside food and beverages are not permitted. There is an ATM on-site.
Consider bringing extra cash to tip the performers.
Bring sunscreen, a spray bottle for misting yourself, and an empty reusable or factory-sealed disposable water bottle. There are water fountains near the privies (bathrooms), so you can refill your misting and water bottles as needed.
Wear comfortable shoes.
If you need to bring a stroller, make sure it can handle uneven terrain, dirt, and grass.
